7 Ways To Optimize Your Morning Routine

By The Sculpt Society

A great morning routine leaves you feeling satisfied, energized, and ready to carry that into the rest of your day. We gathered some of the top tips that we use in order to set ourselves up for success as much as possible.

1. Ground Yourself

Taking even 30min to be completely disconnected from my phone and computer can be a challenge as we are more connected online than ever before, but it’s more important than ever to take a few moments to disconnect for yourself and your mind. It can be as simple as a 5 minute meditation or a morning yoga flow. What matters is that you find a way to calm your mind and body so you set yourself up to receive and feel peacefulness to take with you throughout the rest of your day.

If there are any thoughts floating around that seem to stick out to you, consider journaling about that after your meditation or yoga flow, or take a look at some of our favorite journal prompts to get your mind moving: TSS Instagram Journal Prompts

2. Hydrate + Optimize Your Digestion

Start the day by optimizing your digestion! For us that looks like warm water with a little slice and squeeze of lemon paired with a quality probiotic. TSS founder, Megan Roup, loves to takeSeed’s DS-01™ Daily Synbiotic, a 2-in-1 pre- and probiotic.Seed’s product specifically helps Megan see a difference in her digestion, skin, energy levels, and mood. Not only will your body thank you, but your skin, too!Use code TSS at checkout to get 15% offyour first month’s supply of Seed’s DS-01™ Daily Synbiotic.

3. Take Care of Your Skin

Creating this habit of self-care through an established skincare routine at the beginning of your morning will help you feel calm, ready to tackle the day, and just a tad more put together. We love starting our day with a wake up spritz of Caudalie spray followed by a gentle cleanser like the Kora Organics Milky Mushroom Cleansing Oil. Taking note from Megan, we’re now all superfans of Dr. Dennis Gross products and love using their C + Collagen™ Brighten & Firm Vitamin C Serum. To finish it off we love using the super hydrating Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Cell Power Creme and the Supergoop! Glow Screen for SPF protection. Check out Megan's Amazon Shop and LTK Page to shop some of her favorite skincare goodies.

4. Get Outside

Fresh air is proven to help you naturally wake up and going outside first thing in the morning is the perfect energy booster. During this time, it’s important to really try and unplug and focus on feeling grounded in your body. If you are worried about having a stagnant mind, consider throwing on a TSS meditation while you walk. If you don’t feel like walking, sitting outside with a morning coffee and taking a few deep breaths is also beneficial. As the weather gets colder, we’ve been mastering the art of layering with our cozy closet essentials. Shop Megan's go-to's!

5. Indulge In Your Caffeine Fix

Who doesn’t love a morning coffee? While we often make a quick cup at home from a pot or French press, our favorite way to get that caffeine fix is to take a walk to one of our local cafes. There’s something that makes us smile when we take a morning coffee stroll outside, moving our bodies a little bit. Even if you don’t live in a walkable neighborhood, taking a few minutes to enjoy the process of making yourself a nice morning beverage can be a great way to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of a busy morning. 6. Nourish With A Slow Breakfast

Food is fuel and we love to make a nourishing breakfast each and every morning. Try taking a few minutes to enjoy your meal and not multitask with a meeting, emails, or on your phone. This is much easier said than done, especially if you have children around, but it’s a great way to thank your body for what’s to come later in the day. We’ve been treating ourselves this fall to some homemade pumpkin bars homemade pumpkin bars and of course some avocado toast with eggs on top. Another one of our go-to quick breakfasts is a nourishing smoothie using Ritual’s Essential Protein for a plant-based energy booster. Made from sustainably sourced pea protein + 9 essential amino acids, their vanilla flavor is so yummy. Our go-to combo is one scoop of Ritual’s protein powder, almond milk, frozen blueberries, almond butter, and ½ a banana. Use code SCULPT20 TSS20 for 20% off your first month of Ritual.

7. Move Your Body

Movement is a very important part of life and it’s been proven that we feel our best during the day when we start our mornings with some kind of movement. We like to switch it up daily, taking time some mornings to do a 10min quickie and other mornings a full 30 minute full body. If you have a hard time finding the motivation to move, read about our top motivation tips here. We truly stand by the mantra of committing to less to show up more, so even if it's just a quickie workout, you're setting the stage for consistent movement.

We truly believe we should commit to less to show up more during our TSS workouts. These are a few “hacks” that we try to incorporate into our morning when the day’s schedule allows. It’s rare that each step is covered perfectly on any given day, but we do always feel great when we are able to sneak one or two in.
