Summer’s finally here, and with the hotter weather comes longer days, warmer nights, allllll the fun plans—and, of course, sweatier workouts. This is the time of year when you might find yourself adding a swipe of mascara to wear from noon yoga to an afternoon park hang, or dotting on some concealer before pre-brunch dance cardio. Whatever the reason, here’s what you’ll need to lock in your look before your workout. Start with a long-wear primer and think lightweight, breathable picks for foundation and concealer. When it comes to eye makeup, waterproof formulas may be key. Lip products? Some stains will stay in place without smudging. End with a finishing spray, so your entire look stays put. What’s your #1 makeup product that stays put through even your sweatiest, most challenging workouts?

Maya

My go-to product is Milk Makeup’s Lip and Cheek Duo! Two in one, vibrant and long lasting. I’ve been using this product for years and it is consistent! I use the shade quickie and absolutely love it!

Matt

I don’t usually wear any makeup products BUT occasionally I do love to wear the Phyto-glow lip balm in clear. It makes them look so naturally plump! 

Megan

When I’m teaching, my favorite foundation to wear that still looks great even after the spiciest TSS class is the Merit Perfecting Complexion Stick. It gives the most natural finish while still giving me a little bit of coverage. On top of that if I’m looking for extra staying power I will use the Coola Organic Makeup Setting Spray with SPF 30 just to really lock it in!

If you’re taking a rest day, any products that mimic that post-workout glow?

Megan

I love a glow! When I’m not working out and want to achieve that fresh face look, I reach for two products: Supergoop’s Glowscreen and YSE Beauty’s Wide Awake Brightening Eye Cream. The combination of the two is absolutely stunning and make the skin look dewy and refreshed.

I’ll do a spritz of my Mario Badescu aloe water and it will leave me feeling refreshed!

Maya

I absolutely love the Jones Road Miracle Balm! It’s a light, easy addition to my post skin care routine that gives me that fresh glow! I’m always running around even on my days off or short on time so I use minimal products typically, but this is definitely a must for me!

Any tips or product picks for fully cleansing your face after a workout?

Matt

Oh my God, yes, so many tips! I don’t even know where to begin. I make sure as soon as possible I get to clean my face with a nice gentle cleanser. After that, I work very quickly and use a toner that I spray 10 times on a cotton pad. If I’m at home or in a hotel, I grab some ice and ice my face for 30 seconds to a minute. Then I put on a humectants, cleanser and a serum in that order!

In full transparency, most days after I’m done teaching I am running straight to a meeting and don’t get to wash my face until much later in the day. When I do cleanse, I use Elemis Cleansing Balm to remove all of the makeup and grime from the day!

Maya

I’m still on the hunt for a go to quick product or wipe, but I use my trusty La Roche Posay gentle cleanser morning, night, and everything in between!

Any tips for freshening up your hair after a workout?

Maya

I almost always have braids or twists in, so my favorite spray to use for my hair is the Camille Rose Mint Condition Braid and Scalp Spray! Smells amazing and super hydrating post workout!

Megan

Lots and lots of dry shampoo! My favorite at the moment is from Crown Affair. Even on my brown hair, this product blends beautifully and lets me go longer in between washes!

Matt

What works for me is I like to have my hair fully done before the workout. That way the workout does the least damage it can to my beautiful do!
