Letting go of stress and living in the present is far from easy, but so worthwhile. Since we often need a mindfulness cheat sheet, we’ve compiled some of our favorite de-stressing practices below. Read up on our favorite simple strategies to combat anxiety and inner peace in your daily life. These insights will help you de-stress, navigate challenges more calmly, and find more glimmers of happiness throughout the day.

1. Breathe In, Stress Out

Take a moment to bring all your attention to  your breath. Inhale deeply, exhale slowly. With every breath, bring in the positivity, and allow the negativity to flow right on out. Close your eyes if that feels better for you; just breathe deeply and let worries gradually slip away. Breathe in confidence, breathe out doubt, and repeat until you feel calmer.  

2. Dance Like Nobody's Watching

When anxiety comes knocking, put on your favorite TSS dance cardio class and get moving! The sheer joy of dancing can break down those mental barriers and get your endorphins running wild.

3. Get Your Nature Fix

Nature really is the ultimate healer. A walk in the park, a dip in the ocean, or just sitting under a tree can work wonders. The beauty of the natural world has a seriously magical way of putting things in perspective and soothing your spirit. Being outside: it’s good for the soul.

4. Practice Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness meditation is like a mental workout class; it builds your emotional muscles and strengthens your resilience. Find a cozy spot, close your eyes, and let your thoughts drift across your mind like clouds in the sky.

5. Laugh It Out

Laughter truly is the best medicine. Call up the friend who always makes you giggle, watch a comedy show, stream a funny movie, get your pals together for a group workout, go down a rabbit hole of funny TikToks…or simply let loose and laugh from your heart.

6. Reach Out For Support

If you’re really going through it, know that you’re not alone—and you don't have to go through this alone. Talk to a friend, family member, or a therapist. Sometimes, even just expressing your feelings can provide immense relief. Sharing your feelings is a sign of strength, not weakness, and it's perfectly okay to ask for help and support when you need it.

7. Be Your Own Cheerleader

Acknowledge your wins and celebrate them no matter how small. Completing a challenging project at work, achieving a personal goal, or learning a new skill—these are all applause-worthy moments. Positive reinforcement is one of your  best allies,  so talk yourself up and let your cheers ring loud.

8. Visualize Success

Imagine yourself overcoming your fears and anxieties. Picture yourself achieving your dreams in vibrant detail. This mental canvas  serves as  your guide, gives your brain a roadmap to follow, and can help you stay confident and focused.

Finding your own version of inner peace is a little bit like choosing your own adventure…feel free to take what works and leave the rest. With these tried-and-true practical strategies, a little determination, and a lot of enthusiasm, you're building the foundation to grow and evolve in whichever way you choose.
