Female Founders Series: Claudia Sulewski, Founder of Cyklar

By Megan Roup

I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Claudia Sulewski, who you might know as an incredible actress, content creator, and the visionary founder behind Cyklar. Today, we're diving into her insights on entrepreneurship, the evolution of content creation, and how she manages to blend creativity with business savvy.

This interview was pulled from our Sculpt + Spill conversation, which can be found on The Sculpt Society.

What's the concept behind your brand, Cyklar?

When I started Cyklar, I wanted to create products that not only perform well but also provide a luxurious, sensorial experience. It's all about enhancing the self-care routine with quality ingredients and inspiring people to take that time for themselves. The name 'Cyklar' reflects the cycles we go through in self-care and beauty.

Can you share more about your personal journey with self-care?

My journey has always been evolving. I've spent a lot of my life overextending myself through people-pleasing, a trait many women can probably relate to. Starting Cyklar was a pivotal moment for me; it made me realize the importance of self-care — taking care of myself first enables me to care for others better.

How has your past year been, juggling your roles as an actress and founder?

It's been incredible and eye-opening. I've learned so much about myself and grown both personally and professionally. It's exciting and a bit surreal to see how far I've come in just a year.

What have been some of your biggest lessons in starting and running Cyklar?

One major lesson is 'put it out, perfect it later.' It's easy to get caught up in trying to perfect every detail, but that can be paralyzing. Launching something and being open to feedback allows for iterative improvements, which can propel your brand to new heights.

How do you ensure your products reflect your brand's mission?

I've focused intensely on every detail — from the ingredients and texture to the packaging and user experience. Everything contributes to the overall sensory experience, reinforcing our mission at every touchpoint.

What advice would you give to someone starting their own business?

Don't wait for everything to be perfect. Just start. It's essential to be open to evolving your ideas based on customer feedback. Also, ask questions and be curious. Understanding every aspect of your business, even if it makes you feel vulnerable, is crucial.

Looking back, is there anything you would do differently?

Perhaps I would stress less about trying to make everything perfect initially. Learning to embrace the process and understand that each step is a learning opportunity can really alleviate some of the pressures of starting something new.

Finally, Claudia, any upcoming projects or launches you're excited about?

I'm always looking to expand Cyklar's product line and explore new categories. Each new launch is an opportunity to further connect with our community and enhance their daily routines. So, stay tuned!
