All About Adrenal Cocktails

By The Sculpt Society

Feeling exhausted? Super stressed? There’s an easy, refreshing way to fight burnout. Raise a glass to the latest wellness elixir taking TikTok by storm—the adrenal cocktail. These vitamin C-rich mocktails are a delicious way to nourish your adrenal glands, which play a critical role in managing stress, giving you more energy, and regulating blood pressure, sleep cycle, and metabolism. So whether you’re dealing with recurring anxiety, or just feeling more tired than usual, think of adrenal cocktails as both energy boosters and a tasty way to support your adrenal glands and immune system. Below, we’ll cover more adrenal health tips, the benefits of adrenal cocktails, and just how easy these nutrient-rich drinks are to whip up at home (plus our go-to recipe).

What do your adrenal glands do?

The adrenal glands are two small organs located on top of your kidneys. These glands produce essential hormones—including cortisol and adrenaline, both of which are released in response to stress. Your adrenal glands also produce aldosterone, which helps regulate blood pressure, sodium and potassium levels. In addition, adrenal glands support your body’s metabolic processes and immune function, keeping you healthy and helping fight fatigue. And on top of all this, your adrenal glands manage the balance of electrolytes in your body, helping you stay hydrated. So, yeah—they’re responsible for maintaining not only one, but many aspects of your overall health, mental and physical.

What is an adrenal cocktail?

It’s so much more than a tangy, hydrating mocktail (but it’s that too). Adrenal cocktails are  nutrient-rich drinks designed to support all the functions of your adrenal glands, but primarily to help boost your energy levels, keep you hydrated + healthy, and as one of the stress relief strategies in your toolkit. Since your adrenal glands are responsible for producing the hormones that help your body manage stress, you can think of fixing yourself an adrenal cocktail as a ritual to help decompress.

Adrenal cocktails typically include a blend of ingredients containing vitamin C, potassium, sodium, and other minerals that help replenish your body’s electrolytes and stabilize blood sugar levels. The classic recipe has orange juice—containing Vitamin C, Vitamin A, potassium, and folate—coconut water—for potassium and electrolytes, and to combat inflammation—sea salt—for sodium and magnesium—and cream of tartar, which is high in potassium. This blend of ingredients gives your body the essential nutrients it needs to function properly, especially when you’re feeling stressed and worn out. These wellness elixirs should give you that energy burst (without the post-caffeine slump), help you stay super hydrated (hey, it tastes better than plain water), and just sipping on your adrenal cocktail should help you feel less anxious already. Mix one up and toast to a mellow afternoon.

What are the benefits of an adrenal cocktail?

So. Many. Benefits. Here’s why you’ll want to drink up.

Supports Adrenal Function: These bevvies were custom-made to nourish the adrenal glands, helping maintain hormone stability.

Gives You Extra Energy: Adrenal cocktails are nutrient-rich drinks that contain vitamin C, potassium, and sodium, all of which help stabilize blood sugar levels and deliver a natural energy boost.

Balances Electrolytes: These mocktails are made with coconut water and sea salt, both of which are rich in electrolytes and can provide the right hydration and electrolyte balance. Whip one up after a hard workout that’s left you seriously sweaty.

Helps Alleviate Stress: The vitamins and minerals in adrenal cocktails, particularly vitamin C and vitamin B, support your body's stress response, so you’ll feel both more relaxed and more resilient. Sip on one whenever you need to find your calm.

Boosts Your Immune System: With ingredients rich in antioxidants and vitamins, adrenal cocktails can strengthen your immune system (particularly if you’re feeling extra stressed or worn down).

Popular adrenal cocktail recipes

Why mess with perfection? The classic adrenal cocktail usually contains the following:

  • Orange juice
  • Coconut water
  • Salt
  • Cream of tartar
  • Ginger
  • Fresh lemon juice

You can also add coconut milk for a richer drink with Creamsicle vibes, sparkling water if you’re in a ~ fancy ~ mood, blood orange juice, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, a squeeze of lime, or even a scoop of collagen. Any citrus juice works well in an adrenal cocktail. Play around with these ingredients, and soon you’ll land on the perfect ratio for your go-to wellness elixir.

We prefer our adrenal cocktails on the rocks, so simply mix these up and pour over ice. Don’t forget to garnish with an orange or lemon slice.

By providing your body with essential nutrients like vitamin C, potassium, and sodium, these healthy, hydrating wellness elixirs give you more energy, balance electrolytes, and lower stress levels. Making an adrenal cocktail is an easy—and tasty!—way to show yourself a little extra TLC and support your mind + body. We’ll drink to that.

  • Thanks a million for those adrenal tips. Ireland is getting a lot of hot weather and although I’m drinking lots of water I’d like something else to drink. I’m a teetotal /pioneer but usually grab a cappuccino in the morning or have my green teas.
It’s also nice and welcoming to get these emails as my back seized 11days ago and I couldn’t do my sculpt classes or swim so I’m hoping today to organize myself to ease slowly back into it and try an adrenal drink as I’ve been stressed alot lately.
Thanks TSS always looking out for your family.
