Our Commitment

The Sculpt Society is committed to making our digital fitness platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe fitness should be inclusive and that everyone deserves access to wellness resources regardless of their abilities.

We are partnering with Accessiblü, an independent team of accessibility experts, to ensure our website meets WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards. Accessiblü provides comprehensive accessibility evaluation, expert guidance, and remediation support using their Managed Accessibility Ops methodology. As part of this partnership, we are redesigning our website to build accessibility into the core of the platform. This reflects our commitment to treating accessibility as an ongoing operational priority rather than a one-time project.


Standards We Follow

We are working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines help make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.


Conformance Status

The Sculpt Society website is undergoing active accessibility remediation with Accessiblü, and we are redesigning our website to achieve full WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance.

We have identified and addressed immediate accessibility barriers identified through comprehensive expert evaluation. The website currently runs on a Shopify-based theme platform that contains inherent accessibility limitations in its component architecture. To ensure complete and durable WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance, we are undertaking a complete website rebuild with accessibility integrated throughout the design and development process from the ground up.


Website Redesign with Accessibility

The Sculpt Society is redesigning our website with Accessiblü's guidance to ensure comprehensive accessibility conformance. This strategic rebuild includes:

  • Semantic HTML and proper landmark structure throughout the platform
  • Seamless keyboard navigation and focus management
  • Clear, descriptive link text and logical heading hierarchies
  • Comprehensive alt text for all meaningful images
  • Correct ARIA implementation with proper element nesting
  • Proper touch target sizing and color contrast throughout
  • Accessibility testing integrated throughout the design and development process
  • Ongoing monitoring and accessibility best practices built into our development workflow


Assessment Approach

Accessiblü is conducting comprehensive accessibility evaluation and guidance that includes:

  • Automated scanning using industry-standard tools for technical WCAG 2.2 AA violations
  • Manual expert review by accessibility specialists
  • Testing with assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver
  • Keyboard-only navigation testing
  • Comprehensive evaluation against all WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria
  • Accessibility consultation and guidance for the website redesign


Known Accessibility Barriers

Through our comprehensive accessibility evaluation, we have identified barriers in the current website related to its underlying platform architecture. These include:

  • Skip navigation needs improvement for keyboard and screen reader users
  • Enhanced keyboard focus indicators needed for better visibility
  • Navigation structure improvements for screen reader users
  • Link text clarity enhancements
  • ARIA implementation corrections
  • Image alternative text completeness


Many of these barriers stem from limitations inherent to the current Shopify-based theme platform. Rather than attempting piecemeal fixes within platform constraints, we are undertaking a complete redesign to ensure comprehensive, sustainable accessibility conformance. Immediate critical barriers have been addressed to minimize user impact while the redesign is in progress.


Remediation Progress

Since engaging Accessiblü for accessibility evaluation and remediation, we have:

  • Conducted comprehensive accessibility evaluation using both automated and manual expert assessment
  • Identified and prioritized accessibility barriers by severity and user impact
  • Implemented remediation for critical and high-priority accessibility barriers
  • Initiated website redesign to achieve comprehensive WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance
  • Established ongoing accessibility monitoring and improvement processes


Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology

The Sculpt Society website is tested for compatibility with:

  • JAWS screen reader on Windows
  • NVDA screen reader on Windows
  • VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • Mobile browsers on iOS and Android devices


The website may not be fully compatible with browsers or operating systems more than three major versions old.
